Fat Burn Friday #Fat

#Burnfat. I think it is a good idea to have one day where you are looking to burn fat, rather than gain muscle, so I have dedicated Friday as the day when the fat melts. Now normally you will be training maybe 3 days a week depending on what your workout plan is, so those 3 days are focused on you gaining muscle, of course there is some fat burning occurring but not at the rate it would normally occur say you were concentrating purely on losing fat through cardiovascular activity etc.

One must be aware of some common knowledge – that is it takes -3500 calories to burn one pound of fat. [Read more...]

Liquid Protein Diets Do They Work?

Well it depends on what you are trying to achieve, if weight loss is your goal then yes, for muscle retention it will work, but you are missing out on many other nutrients and minerals. I would suggest doing this briefly and see what your fat loss is after say a few days. Good protein shakes will contain other nutrients, but maybe not contain dietary fiber or other vitamins. I have included a list of the ingredients in Promasil Protein by Rivalus. [Read more...]

How To Get Rid Of Stubborn Belly Fat

Are Adrenoreceptors Causing You To Store Fat?

Is the belly the last place you will lose fat? Well probably not, it’s just that gravity and other things make it look that way. Belly fat is not attractive. It doesn’t look good when you bend over, it doesn’t look good when you are naked, or on the beach, so how do you get rid of stubborn belly fat?

Well first of belly fat is just fat, it isn’t any different to fat under your arms or on your legs, the fat cell composition might be different, but it’s still fatty acids. It’s just that it is more noticeable.  However there are some scientific reasons as to why you might be struggling to lose that fat around your waist independent of how much fat is stored in other body areas. One of which is called the alpha-2receptor, and in some part the alpha-1 receptor.

These two are responsible for the inhibition of fatty acids from adipose tissue. One interesting thing about this receptor is that it is tends to hold fat around the waist. This isn’t to say you can have massive man boobs and still have a six pack, but it may play a role in storing excess fat (disproportionately) around your stomach area.

Belly Fat Shrinks Slow

In men this can be particularly true, belly fat might shrink at a rate that you hardly notice. However, other people may notice. A good way to see how much your belly is shrinking, stand bent over and to the side and see how much it hangs out past your jeans. It might sound strange, but this way you can see the shrink taking effect. Now if you are obese, or just overweight and have a belly then, you need to make adjustments to your diet, and know which foods help with shrinking the overhang.  Ideally you should be eating smaller meals more regularly. You need to cut down on carbs, because carbs are more likely to be converted into fat, due to insulin spikes etc. Drinking water and adding in a stim (fat burner) will help you control appetite and lose pounds around your waist (this is not the only place you will lose fat).  You need to be patient with fat loss goals, just make sure you are giving enough effort in both the gym, home and your kitchen. Does Caffeine Burn Fat?

Can drinking coffee or consuming caffeine actually help to burn body fat? There are many products which contain caffeine, some of these include diet pills, sports drinks and more. So what is the benefits of having caffeine in these products?

Well caffeine is a known stimulant of the Central Nervous System (CNS). It is contained naturally in the following: tea, coffee, guarana, and kola nuts. How Many Calories Do You Burn Doing Nothing?

People often wonder, how many calories they are burning by doing absolutely nothing! It’s a great question, but the answer is not that straight forward. A lot of it depends on your metabolism. What we need to gain an understanding of is your basal metabolic rate or (BMR) this is your resting metabolism. There are other factors involved in how many calories you burn doing absolutely nothing, but the main scientific factor is your BMR. You need to calculate your BMR to know how many calories you burn doing nothing. This helps us because the BMR defines what ‘us’ mammals will burn just in order to live. How To Enter Ketosis?

Ketosis is a state whereby the body begins to use stored fat as an energy source.  One enters ketosis, when glycogen levels in the liver are depleted. Glycogen comes from carbohydrates that you eat, such as grains, potatoes and other food types. Ketogenesis occurs in the human body when carbohydrate levels are restricted, starvation occurs or fasting takes place. During this time the body produces what are called ketones. Ketones are then used by the body in order to allow it to continue to function. Ketones can be used as an energy source for the brain as they can pass the blood brain barrier. Ketosis is a state of carbohydrate starvation. Inuit diets are notoriously famous for this, however there primary source of food intake is protein and fat.  [Read more...]
