How To Build The Vastus Medialis?

The vastus medialis is part of the quad (four) muscles of the leg. This muscle is often ignored in lots of training scenarios due to its strange position. But what many people forget including soccer players and the like is that this muscle offers a good amount of protection for the knee. Most weight trainers will focus on the larger muscle the vastus lateralis which when big gives your legs girth (good for skinny guys!) [Read more...]

Too Much Cardio Look Skinny?

Being athletically fit is a great thing, but in reality you should be looking to mix up your workouts. If you have lost quite a bit of fat and now people are commenting on how much weight you have lost, then why not start to mix in weight training? Weight training will also help to keep fat off, but you will also be able to sculpt your body into what shape you wish. Many people focus on one training method, but it’s better to cross train as you will develop a more cohesive and better looking body. Women should not think – ‘Oh I don’t want to get big’. You have less testosterone anyway, and unless you are lifting heavy weights, you’ll most likely get more toned. No one knows your body better than you, you see it everyday. [Read more...]

Should Women Weight Train?

Why Women Should Weight Train

For some strange reason the fallacy stubbornly exists that if women take up weight training that they’re going to develop muscles like Arnie.  But the truth is, while it is possible for a woman to bulk up if she so desires, women simply don’t have the same amount of testosterone in their bodies as men.  And this is the hormone which causes muscle hypertrophy.  So, ladies, don’t shy away from the weight room because you’re frightened of becoming a lumbering muscle-bound ‘shemale!’ [Read more...]

Bodybuilding And Sleep

Why Sleep is Important for Losing Fat and Gaining Muscle

In our quest to achieve the perfect physique it can sometimes be easy to forget that adequate rest is as important as the exercise itself.  As many have become painfully aware, the final few pounds of fat which lovingly cling to your curves can be the most stubborn and difficult to lose. Skinny Fat

Skinny fat, what is it to be skinny fat? Can you be skinny and fat at all? It doesn’t even sound right. Well the idea is that you are lacking any sort of muscular definition yet have fat in places such as (girls) thighs, bum, and (guys) the waist area. Lacking muscle in the upper body while having excess fat around the lower portion of the body results in a pear shape, at least for girls. How exactly though can you get rid of the skinny fat look? No wonder a variety of products and courses have proliferated announcing quick results. There is the popular gym where people are coaxed to spend long tiring hours. There are fad diets that promise you both good muscles and loss of fat. Steroid and other artificial interventions too have come to stay. But these are not necessarily effective, safe or correct. The best way to lose fat is not the long and boring cardio workouts, or for that matter long hours in the gym. Understanding the way nature intended our body to be built along with the focus, determination and discipline, one can surely get to a perfect body.

A routine of burning calories through the right weight training suited to your body, combined with the right nutrition, is the secret to good and effective bodybuilding. One such successful method is the turbulence training. It is tailored to each according to one’s need combining athletic training, bodybuilding, effective workout and nutrition. The correct nutrition is more important than the workout for fat loss. The workout and bodybuilding then shapes your body. Bodyweight Exercises For Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving coming up, I began to worry about all the eating, and going home being away from my gym. I asked myself, “how am I not going to gain tons of fat from all the turkey and dressing, and keep up my workout regimen without a gym?”

If you’re a true lifter, you know there’re NO excuses if you TRULY want to get ripped. My man, Vince came out with a great video that includes some really intense bodyweight exercises to head off the turkey over the break. Include these in your regimen for a ripped body and washboard abs.

Protein – The Denominator Customary To All Diets

Our body is continually attuned to its environment. Matter and molecules flow in and out, casting themselves into its complexities. Although the body gives the framework, it’s actually what you put in it – your food regimen – which finally determines your overall fitness. By controlling what composes your food eating regimen you’re virtually choosing what stays inside your body. Dietary selections replicate an consciousness of metabolism and the nutrients needed to switch it. There are countless diets which declare to be very effective for certain actions or illnesses. However, the one macronutrient that’s invariably required, in substantial amounts no matter the physiological state, is protein. [Read more...]

The Lifestyle of a Bodybuilder – Pt.2

It’s been a few months, but I’m back for good now. Thanks for sticking around.

I had to take sometime and get things in order for myself so that I could be of the best benefit to you guys. This blog is all about good quality info and I wanted to be sure that I provided you with that.

Now, to continue where I left off…

The lifestyle of a bodybuilder first takes the decision to change your body, but where do you go from there?

The next biggest step in the equation, I feel, is to get your eating habits in order.

Right or wrong nutrition can be the deal breaker in your quest to your new body.

This sounds simple, but changing a habit is never easy, especially one that’s crucial to your survival such as eating.

Because it’s not easy, this is where the first test of your decision comes into place.

I’ve gone into detail about what to eat in Eating to Build Muscle and Bodybuilding Nutrition blogs.

I’ll go into better detail about proper nutritional timing in a later post that will add to the When to Eat to Build Muscle post.

This is a game changer guys. Going through your fridge right now and tossing out what shouldn’t be and going shopping for what should be will be a paradigm shift for you by itself.

I see so many beginners, and lifters in general, get this wrong. They think that a protein shake and some pills will be enough while the binge on pizza and burgers.

They look up 2 months later and wonder where all their hard work went.

I’ll do a post on supplements to give you the truth but think about this. Supplements are just what they say they are…to SUPPLEMENT. They are not REPLACEMENTS.

I’ve included a diagram below to put this whole thing into perspective.

Notice how supplements are like the icing on the cake, while nutrition is at the Base of the pyramid.

I’ll leave you with this. If you’re not serious about your diet, you’re not serious about building muscle.

Now, if you ARE serious about building muscle and learning about the proper nutrition, check out the muscle building program review page.
