Is Crossfit A Cult?

Crossfit a cult?

I haven’t actually tried Crossfit so I can’t comment and be entirely accurate in my assumptions, that it is a ‘cult’, but I would say it is ‘cult’ish’. I say this because a lot of its adherents become religiously devoted to it; which fits in the definition of being a cult – not just the actual classes, but it’s terminology such as WOD’s (work out of the day) etc., and it’s founder, Greg Glassman, who somewhat calls out other training methods and proclaims things like: you put a gravel shovel competition between a Crossfitter and a professional cyclist, and the Crossfitter would easily win… [Read more...]
