Like me, we all enjoy sweets and deserts, right? But as they say, everything must to be done in moderation. Over indulging in those delicious treats such as, candy, cookies, cake and pies, could result in major health issues down the road, like heart disease.
Higher levels of triglycerides and lower levels of protective lipoproteins as well as HDL, increases the risk for heart disease. Study shows that those individuals who consumed more added sugar were more at risk.
In a study that was done on 6000 adults, it was found that their calorie intake was 16 percent added sugar. The group was divided based in sugar intake and cholesterol levels. [Read more...]
